DSL Modem Troubleshooting Tips

Check to make sure all three cables on back of DSL modem are secure. Those cables are 1) Power 2) Phone Line 3) Ethernet Cable. Also check the connections at the other end of each cable to make sure they are also secure. Please consult the DSL installation manual if you are unsure how these cables should be connected.

Unplug the AC power from the back of the DSL modem (your modem may have and on/off switch) for at least 30 seconds and then plug it back in. The modem will reboot in 1-2 minutes. Restart your computer while the modem is rebooting.

When the "POWER", "ADSL Link", and "ETH Link" (could be LAN link) lights are active your DSL connection should be restored. This process may need to be repeated. If you are still unable to restore your DSL connection call RTC on Line Technical Support at 1-888-392-0229 (Office hours are 8am to 5pm Mon-Fri)

Remember that all DSL customers also have a 30 Hour dial-up account with RTC on Line. If there is a problem with your DSL connection, you may dial in at anytime. Call Technical Support for configuration assistance.
